• Not at all. Grief and loss are what personally led me to this work, but creativity is universal - something we all have access to.

Having a painting practice is a way to continually process the hard things life brings.

If I could explain it by drawing, I’d draw a funnel: with grief and loss , or anything heavy , pouring in at the top. Creativity is the funnel itself, catching what’s too much to hold and letting it move through in a different way. What comes out is a place that feels lighter and more supportive. That’s the healing place I work on building for myself - and the place I invite you into.

  • Your “funnel” may not hold grief. It might be retirement, aging, loneliness, divorce, illness, job loss, or even feeling a loss of passion and purpose. Whatever it is, creativity gives you a way to transform it.

  • Intuitive painting is a process-based approach to art that focuses on expression, not outcome. It’s about listening inward, responding to color and shape, and letting the experience unfold rather than aiming for a polished final piece. It’s quite literally having a conversation with the canvas—no judgment, no rules.

  • Not at all. Many people who join these workshops haven’t picked up a paintbrush since childhood—or ever! You’ll pick up a few art tips along the way, but this isn’t an art lesson. It’s about using creativity to connect with yourself in a new, meaningful way.

  • It’s definately different. There’s no step-by-step instruction or “everyone paints the same thing” approach. These workshops are about your story, your hands, your rhythm. You’ll be guided, not taught—and what you create will be uniquely your own.

  • These workshops can feel therapeutic, but they are not therapy. They’re designed as creative spaces for exploration, expression, and connection. If you’re already working with a therapist, this can be a beautiful companion to that process.

  • You should 🙂 Canvas & Connection is for adults who are looking for something new—a way to use their creativity and connect with others in a welcoming, social setting. Whether you’re craving self-discovery, a creative outlet, or simply a place to feel supported, you’ll find space here.
