“I’m not creative. I can’t paint. What am I even doing here?”
That’s how a lot of people feel at the start.
By the end? They’re reflecting, laughing, connecting—and often surprised by what showed up on the canvas and in themselves.
These aren’t painting classes. They’re creative experiences that invite presence, curiosity, and insight - especially for people who think they aren’t “creative.”
Through simple, process-based painting, we explore themes like stress, transition, connection, and emotional wellbeing. There’s no pressure to share. No skill required. Just space to play, and engage in a conversation at the canvas you didn’t expect to have.
When we shift from stress to wonder- from routine to awe - it raises more than our mood. It raises our energy, our clarity, and our capacity to lead and connect.
That’s what happens at the canvas.
Session are great for:
• Staff retreats & wellness days
• Burnout recovery & transition support
• Mental health & DEI initiatives
• Cancer, grief, or caregiver groups

Finished paintings - for now. We can go back and paint more or make changes at any time.

On the first layer we paint our intentions. These words represent more of what we want to bring into our lives.

We paint the words that have meaning for us.

Every person has their own individual intentions. Even if we use the same words they are still deeply personal.

The next layer is the freedom layer. We paint colors, make marks, use stencils, paint with our fingers. It's play and there are no rules or expectations.

Layers and more layers

Just chilling and soaking up all the good energy in the room :)

In the next layer we start adding our Buddha.

There are lots of reference photos for inspiration and we talked about common features.

Any time you don't like something - all you have to do is change it. It's an important lesson in life and in painting.

Everyone approaches painting the way that feels right to them

Adding some small details

Bigger brushstrokes

Taking a look and deciding what to do next

This Buddha is still a work in progress and that's awesome. There is never a requirement to be done. It's a choice.

This is the same Buddha shrouded in a veil of color/a wash of color. Still more to come. The more you paint the more things are revealed.
